Cocamide DEA

A foam booster made from coconut fatty acids and diethanolamine. It can carry traces of DEA, and it's listed as possibly carcinogenic (IARC group 2B). Common in shampoos.
What it does
Surfactant or cleanser. Lifts oil and dirt so they rinse away; makes foam.
Worth knowing
Can irritate or dry out skin, especially at higher strength or in leave-on products.
